Surface Preparation
Thoroughly clean the area using soap and water, then remove grease, oil, and wax with a degreaser. Sand the surface with 80–120 grit sandpaper to create texture for better adhesion, and wipe it clean with a tack cloth or acetone. Mask off surrounding areas to protect from overspray or spills.
Mix the Bed Liner
Shake or stir the product well before use. For 2-part kits, combine the resin and hardener as directed. Some products require a short induction period after mixing—always follow manufacturer instructions.
Apply the First Coat
Using a spray gun, roller, or brush, apply the first coat in an even, consistent layer. Maintain steady movement if spraying to avoid buildup or runs. Ensure full coverage of all intended areas.
Apply Additional Coats
Allow the first coat to become tacky (usually within 30–60 minutes), then apply a second coat to build up thickness and durability. More coats can be added as desired, depending on the level of protection needed.
Allow to Cure
Drying times vary, but most liners will be touch-dry within a few hours. Full curing may take 24 to 72 hours. Avoid heavy use or exposure to moisture during this time to ensure a strong, lasting finish.
Clean Up
Clean all tools and equipment immediately after use with a recommended solvent like acetone or xylene. Remove all masking tape before the liner fully cures to prevent tearing or peeling.
